Inside Martin Freeman's dating life: Who is the actor dating? 

Martin Freeman is an English actor who has garnered massive fame and an exclusive celebrity influence by starring in an array of high-profile projects. Some of his most notable roles include the self-deprecating Tim Canterbury in the British mockumentary The Office, the astute Dr. Watson in the crime-drama series Sherlock, and the protagonist Mike in the sitcom Hardware.  

Martin John Christopher Freeman was born on September 8, 1971, in Aldershot, Hampshire. Although the 50-year-old actor has never been married, Freeman considers love an important aspect of his life. He was previously in a long-term relationship with his Sherlock co-star Amanda Abbington, with whom he shares his two kids.

Following his split from Abbington in 2016, who Martin had started dating in 2000, the actor remained single for a couple of years. But The World's End actor has seemingly found love again. But instead of pursuing a relationship with a compeer, Freeman has joined the host of showbiz giants who are into younger partners, and in his case, awfully younger.

Freeman is dating French actress Rachel Mariam, 29. The lovebirds have 21-years standing between them, but the pair couldn't care less about the norms and the world's perception. The Responder star and Mariam's budding romance first became a talk in November 2020. Surprisingly, it was Rachel who first gave the world a whiff of their almost-illicit-looking relationship.

The pair were reportedly still in the early days of their romance when Mariam posted a picture of them at a private screening of the Sky Arts documentary, Long Hot Summers. The couple has since remained unashamed and open about their relationship. Although the two are yet to reveal how and when they crossed each other's paths and, more importantly, how it took a romantic turn, Freeman and Mariam often make loved-up public appearances.

Like many other arm candy girlfriends to Hollywood's giants, Rachel may come off as one of them, but she is a star in her own right. She has a degree in theatre & filmmaking from the Gaiety School of Acting, Dublin. Rachel has acting credits in BBC's Normal People and the tv series This Way Up. She has writer's and producer's credits in the tv series Call It a Day.

Freeman's dating history doesn't reveal a lot of names; in fact, before starting the ongoing romantic venture with Rachel, the Sherlock actor's name was associated with Abbington. Freeman and Abbington's relationship evolved throughout the pair's co-star status in various projects.

Martin and his now-ex Amanda first met on the sets of 2000's Men's Only. Their next onscreen appearance together was in The Robinsons, Swinging with the Finkels, The Debt, and BBC's Sherlock, where the pair played husband and wife and soon translated their chemistry into real life.

After confirming their romantic relationship in 2006, the duo went on to portray a perfect, almost inseparable bond. Freeman and Abbington never walk down the aisle, but the duo's relationship wasn't anything less of a married couple. They welcomed their kids, Joe, in 2006 and Grace, in 2008. The pair quietly called it quit in 2016. "I'm not with Amanda anymore. "It's very, very amicable — I’ll always love Amanda," Freeman said in a statement.
