Melissa Roxburgh's Parents and Her early Life: The Canadian Actress Grew Up With Three Siblings!
Melissa Roxburgh is currently garnering attention for playing Michaela Stone on Netflix's supernatural drama Manifest: the show initially aired on NBC. But the actress's breakout role was in the 2011 live-action comedy Diary of a Wimpy Kid. She has developed an impressive resume over the years.
Her other credits include Star Trek Beyond, The Marine 4: Moving Target, and I Still Believe. As Manifest is set to return for a new season, Roxburgh, one of the leading cast members in the show, is receiving all the spotlight. Roxburgh comes from an affluent background, but the actress might be the first in her family to enter the glamour world.
Roxburgh's Parents Didn't Want Her to Pursue Acting!
Roxburgh was born on December 10, 1992, in Vancouver, British Columbia. She grew up with her three siblings; two sisters named Kristie and Ashley and one brother named Matt. Her father, whose name is not known yet, is an esteemed Canadian pastor, and her mother, Shelley Roxburgh, a retired British tennis player.

The actress holds dual citizen in the USA and Canada. Melissa reveals her parents didn't want her to pursue acting even though she realized her dream to become one as a child. She didn't intend to finish high school if it wasn't for her parents. "My parents forced me to complete high school, which I'm thankful for," she told Bello Magazine.

Despite her parents' objection, Roxburgh ventured into acting right after graduating highs school in Vancouver; she landed her first onscreen role in Diary of Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. Impressed by her work, filmmakers allotted young Melissa an essential spot in the sequel Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days. The actress says it was her high school drama teacher who encouraged her to follow her passion for acting.

"I was that crazy kid who stole my mom's home video camera and forced all of my siblings to be in my horrible movies that were about absolutely nothing at the end of the day but I thought they were genius at the time," says Roxburgh, reinstating her love for ActingActing. Credits to her courage for following a different path, Melissa now has a younger sister who's aspiring to become an actor.

In an interview, Roxburgh said her younger sister has been looking to venture into acting. Revealing her sister's keen interest in acting, Roxburgh said, "She's kind of coming to me with questions that I would've had in the beginning, and I'm able to answer those questions almost as if I'm talking to my younger self."
