New Monsters are Coming to The Witcher on Netflix, According to Showrunner

There will be new monsters in the upcoming season of The Witcher, according to the showrunner of the series.

After over a year of waiting for 'The Witcher' will finally be here in about nine days, and to say we are excited would be an understatement. The game is something we still play to this day, and after being released over four years ago, not only is the game still enjoyable, it can compete with almost any game released ever since 2015.

But the one thing we’ve been told from the first is the show will only pray the show with a little aspect of the games, instead of being solely based on the books which the games are also adapted from. Still, the world inhabited by the game and the books were created by Andrzej Sapkowski, and we do not mind the show is based entirely on the novel series.

With so little time left with the show debuting on Netflix, the people involved in the making of the show are in full swing of their press tour, and during one of the stops, Lauren Hissrich divulged some information about the upcoming series. The showrunner also recently stated she is ready to make more than seven seasons of the series, but at her recent stop, she revealed there would be some new monsters in the upcoming series of The Witcher.

During a trailer breakdown, Hissrich revealed they were keeping most of the monster away from the promotional materials, and there are some new monsters the showrunner and the people involved in the making of the show are keeping on the down-low.

Lauren Hissrich said, “It's funny, 'cause monsters are huge in The Witcher, but it's actually one of the things that we're trying to hold out of the teasers and trailers as much as possible because we think there's a great element of surprise for existing fans who don't know what stories we're playing with and what monsters we're playing with. And also, there's a couple of new monsters that we've come up with based on a lot of sort of Polish folklore.”

It is interesting to think the show will be introducing some new type of monster in the show, which is already loaded with some awesome looking monsters. Still, it will be interesting to see what the people involved in the making of the show come up with. The recent promotional video of 'Yennefer' shows there is a lot in store for the characters in the first season of 'The Witcher,' seems Yennefer actor Anya Chalotra will have her hands full in the first season.

Everything will come to light, and 'Geralt' will ride to rid The Continent of monsters when the show debuts its first season on 20 December 2019. Also, on the same note, Netflix already gave a green light for the second season of 'The Witcher' which shows the confidence of the top brass with the show and if the recent reception of the first episode of 'The Witcher' is anything to go by, then Netflix is definitely holding a winning hand, for years to come.
