He won a BAFTA for the role and also a nomination for Primetime Emmy. Mescal was born on 2 February 1996 in Maynooth, County Kildare.  

The actor's surge to fame can be best described as phenomenal. Upon graduating from Trinity College, Mescal worked in several plays. Normal People was Mescal's first television role, and the actor made the first breakthrough. Otherwise reticent to open his personal life, Mescal recently gave fans some insight into his love life. Since the news of the couple's sweet getaway to London is everywhere, we figure you already know the mystery woman. Yes, it is four Grammy-nominations winning singer Phoebe Bridgers. The duo was spotted vacationing in London. An onlooker reported, "Paul and Phoebe were out in Shoreditch and looked so sweet."

Long before Paul made it official, fans have already been in awe of him and his mystery girlfriend. The Normal People star had admitted to having a girlfriend last year. In an interview with GQ Magazine, he called his then-unknown beau a lifesaver. "I don't Know what i'd do without her," he told the publication.

Paul Mescal, who rose to overnight stardom after one hit, said the newfound fame was as intimidating as it was unexpected. "To have someone to lean on through such a mad time has been invaluable," said Mescal. The actor has a slew of projects coming soon; The Lost Daughter, Carmen, God's Creature, and so goes the list.

We believe both Mescal and Phoebe felt a spark in May last year. In an interview, Bridgers had confessed that she became a fan of Paul after watching Normal People. Later, a source claimed that Paul was smitten with the singer. Things escalated pretty quickly, and the pair were spotted enjoying a cozy breakfast at an Irish cafe in July.
