Powerpuff Girls Fans criticise New Live-Action Reboot

The Powerpuff Girls get san edgy live-action remake and viewers are not happy about it. 

The story follows 'Powerpuff Girls' grown-up and to their twenties who have lost their childhood, saving the city.

According to Deadline, Diablo Cody, who previously worked on movies like Juno and Jennifer's Body, will work on the reboot for The CW with writer Heather Regnier

But, fans who has grown up with the series don't seem to be happy with the reboot as most of the fans were not happy with the live-action and storyline showing depressed Teenage Powerpuff girls.

One of the most retweeted posts reads,

CW is making live-action Powerpuff Girls, and they're going to be depressed adults? Can't have s*** in 2020.

A third referenced the show's previous revival, stating, "Because if the failed reboot didn't drive a nail into the franchise's coffin, then maybe a dark, gritty live-action series on the CW that nobody asked for the will."

Talking about the original Powerpuff cartoon - the original series was created by Craig McCracken, which aired on Cartoon Network from 1998 to 2005. The cartoon followed three characters Blossom (pink), Bubbles (blue), and Buttercup (green).

But we cannot say that the series is entirely based on the growing part of Powerpuff girls as there will also be plenty of crime-fighting too.
