Simu Liu and Jade Bender Make Their Red Carpet Debut at 2022 ESPY Awards

Up until the 2022 ESPY Awards on Wednesday night, Simu Liu and Jade Bender were rumored to be dating, but no more, as the pair's close-up appearance on the red carpet sets the record straight. The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings star, 33, and The Senior Year actress Jade Bender, 24, turned up arm in arm at the event, looking all dapper and gorgeous.   

The Canadian actor sported a dark-textured suit paired with black shoes. Liu's slightly unbuttoned shirt, left open to flaunt his dangling gold chains and his clean, shaved chest, did its job of accentuating the whole look. Liu's girlfriend, Bender, stood by Simu's side, looking gorg in a shimmery off-shoulder mini-dress paired with silver hoop earrings and strappy heels.   

Liu and Bender sparked dating rumors weeks ago after they were spotted enjoying dinner in the West Hollywood area.

The pair's red carpet debut comes weeks after the couple first sparked dating rumors with their multiple public appearances. First, enjoying a romantic dinner in the West Hollywood area, and then during the taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live in Los Angeles. Liu was rumored to be dating Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause earlier this year.

The rumor swirled after Liu shared a screen with Stause on the Netflix reality show, where Stause, a reality tv star-turned real estate agent, helped Simu find the perfect house in LA. While Liu kept mum about matters concerning his personal life, Stause came forward to decline the romantic link. During her appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Stause called Liu "a friend" after applauding the Canadian actor as "so lovely and amazing."

The Kim's Convenience actor is notoriously low-key when it comes to his love life. Since his breakthrough with the crime-drama series Blood and Water in 2016, Liu hasn't made any of his romances public. However, the Canadian actor was rumored to be in a long-term relationship with actress Tina Jung, who has worked with Liu in Beauty and the Beast and Kim's Convenience. Liu's new girlfriend Bender has credits in Warren The Ape, Major Crimes, and the recently-released Rebel Wilson starrer Senior Year.

Simu Liu is gearing up to star in the upcoming Margot Robbie starrer Barbie movie. The Marvel actor recently revealed that he waxed his entire body for the part and described it as one of the "most painful experiences" of his life. "I have such a newfound admiration for the incredibly brave women who go through this on a monthly basis," Liu quipped.
