Nick Collison is a retired American professional basketball player who played his basketball career for the Seattle Supersonics and Oklahoma City Thunder of the National Basketball Association. He was drafted by the Supersonics in the first round of the 2003 NBA draft, being the 12th pick overall. He wore the number 4 jersey and played as a power forward and center before retiring as a member of the Thunder in 2018. 

Born in Orange City, Iowa, Collison grew up in Fort Dodge and Iowa Falls. For his high school, he attended Iowa Falls High School and later went to Kansas. The 40-year-old was a McDonald's All-American in 1999. During his time at Kansas, he finished his college career as the leading scorer in the history of the Big 12 Conference. For his impressive achievements for his college basketball team, Kansas Jayhawks recognized his achievements and retired his jersey on November 25, 2003. After his retirement as a basketball player in 2018, Thunder retired his No.4 jersey and became the first number retired by the Thunder.

It is not learned when the couple first met and started their relationship but the pair dated for many years before exchanging the rings. On September 20, 2019, the former United States national team member got engaged with his longtime lover. Likewise, he announced his engagement to his followers on his Instagram.

The former NBA player was in matrimony for about a decade with Robbie Harriford, a Kansas City physician. The pair had tied the knot in 2007.

Before their wedding, Collison and Harrifor had already become parents to their daughter, Emma Collison, who was born a year before in 2006.
