Finally! Britney Spears, 40, and Sam Asghari, 28, are off to their happily ever after. The singer-actor pair tied the knots in an intimate ceremony, unlike what the world had presumed. The duo exchanged their vows in the backyard of Spears's lux mansion in Thousand Oaks, Calif. An intimate ceremony usually entails family and friends, but Spears's wedding was unsurprisingly missing the former.  

The Femme Fatale singer's stale relationship with her family, which includes her estranged parents Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears, and her sister Jamie Lynn Spears, is no secret; hence their absence at Britney's wedding was sort of given, or at the least not questioned. The pop star's two children, Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, from her marriage with Kevin Federline, were also missing from the ceremony.

Attending the high-profile wedding were stars like Madonna, Paris Hilton, Drew Barrymore, Spears' prosecutor Matthew Rosengart, and more. Although the fairy-tale-themed wedding concluded perfectly, it could have had a better start. An early drama unfolded at the singer's residence when her first ex-husband, Jason Alexander, tried to crash the wedding and got arrested in the attempt.

"Britney Spears invited me here. She's my first wife, my only wife. I'm her first husband. I'm here to crash the wedding," Alexander can be heard saying in the clip, which has now gone viral. But before Jason could storm the happy couple's wedding venue, he was taken into custody under battery charge. His bail is set at $22,500.

Returning to the newly married pair, Spears and Asghari's nuptials comes almost a month after they announced miscarriage. "We have lost our miracle baby in the pregnancy," Spears had written in an emotional statement. She added, "perhaps we should have waited to announce until we were further along, but we were overly excited to share the good news.  

The Toxic hitmaker and Sam were firts linked in 2016 after they connected on the sets of Britney's MV Slumber Party. "I was like, 'He was really cute, this guy was really cute,' so I called him; he is just a really fun, funny person," Britney said about Sam in the beginning; Asghari, on the other hand, was attracted by the singer's humbleness.

After years of romance, the loved-up duo announced their engagement in September 2021. "The couple made their long-standing relationship official today and are deeply touched by the support, dedication and love expressed to them," Asghari's rep said at the time.

 Spears's dating history includes names like Justin Timberlake, Jason Trawick, and Charlie Ebersol. After Alexander, with whom she was married for 55 hours, making it one of the shortest-lived celebrity marriages, Spears married Federline in 2004 and divorced in 2007.
