George Raymond Richard Martin professionally known as George R.R. Martin is an American novelist and short story writer. Well many of us only know the leading writer as the author of Game of Thrones, isn't it? 

Well, he has done more than 'GOT' with more than 50 iconic writings throughout his 50 years career.

Starting off, Martin is best known for his epic fantasy novel 'Song of Ice and Fire' which was later adopted by HBO and turned into fantasy television drama 'Game of Thrones' aired from April 17, 2011- May 19, 2019. The series resulted in one of the most hyped series of all time.

George Raymond Richard Martin writings from 1971- 1975

Martin began his writing career selling some of the best science fictions short stories professional from 1970. His first sale was "The Hero" that he sold to galaxy publications and published in its February 1971 issue.

George first story "The Hero" was nominated in Hugo Awards and Nebula.

In the initial year of his writing, he started writing short stories like The Hero (1971), The Second Kind of Loneliness (1972), Override (1973) mostly belongs to Analog Science Fiction and Fact.

Following in 1974, he published another astonishing writing Novella that won the Hugo Award for Best Novella. Till date, George was already famous and was counted among the finest writers. He was also hugely admired for his best storytelling at a 1975 short story 'The Lonely Songs of Laren Dorr'.
