Christian Bale is taking the mantle of the villain on Thor: Love and Thunder.
'The Dark Knight' star Christian Bale indeed lives long enough to see himself become the villain, upon receiving confirmation of getting cast as the antagonist in the fourth installment of the Thor movie series in the MCU.
During a recent interview, 'Valkyrie' actress Tessa Thompson revealed she's read the script and is completely aware of what's going to happen. Her fan-favorite character alongside Chris Hemsworth's titular God of Thunder could likely face off against Christian Bale's 'Balder the Brave' on 'Thor: Love and Thunder.' However, Bale's character is still in need of official confirmation, and therefore, any prior claim is mere speculation at this point.

Taika Waitati will not only serve as the director for the film, but he's also one of the minds behind the script, working alongside Jennifer Kaytin Robinson. Waititi seeks to take the Thor franchise to another level following his incredibly successful work on Thor: Ragnorak, which is, without doubt, the best Thor movie ever made. In fact, this movie is one of the significant reasons Thor went from a decent superhero to an incredible fan-favorite overnight.
Meanwhile, Natalie Portman is set to reprise her role as Jane Foster alongside the lead stars Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson as Thor and Valkyrie, respectively. Fans are eagerly awaiting how Jane's story transpires, knowing she will wield the mighty Mjolnir in the film. In the comics, Jane Foster takes the mantle of Female Thor after getting diagnosed with cancer. It remains to be seen how the movie version plays out.
Thor and Valkyrie's last appearance in the MCU was the biggest blockbuster of 2019, Avengers: Endgame. The movie concludes with Thor appointing Valkyrie as the rule of Asgard (or whatever's left) while he joins the Guardians of the Galaxy in their adventures.
'Thor: Love and Thunder' releases on 5th November 2021.
