John Beilein slated to leave Cleveland Cavaliers

The chance that Cleveland Cavaliers took when they hired John Beilein isn't working out, and it might finally be coming to an end!

Only 54 games into his career as the Cleveland Cavaliers' head coach, John Beilein, Husband of Kathleen Beilein, might be calling quits. The 67 years old took up the position right before the start of this season with much difficulty during the transition from Michigan to Cleveland. John replaced Beilein in Ann Arbor, and it looks like the defeats are getting to him. The team saw 14 victories, whereas it lost 40 games against its contenders.

The news of Beilein's possible split with Cleveland Cavaliers came from ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski as he wrote on Twitter, "Cavaliers and John Beilein have discussed possibility of him stepping down as coach during the NBA All-Star Break."

The possible rip, however, remains a rumor as no decision came to light to date. With the team's loss history, it might be a wise decision for the head coach to part ways. The only question remaining, will it happen immediately or at the conclusion of the 2019-20 season?

As reported by The Athletic, the Cav head coach will meet with team owner Dan Gilbert on Monday to discuss his options. The sports team entered the All-Star break with the worst record in the Eastern Conference. This season marks Beilein's first year as an NBA head coach after the successful stint at Michigan, and there's a high probability that his parting of ways with the Cavs could indeed be mutual.

Reports of discontent from the Cavaliers players came back in December that accused John of treating and operating the pro-American team like a college program. John also found himself in hot waters in January when he referred to his players as thugs instead of slugs during a film session.

The hire of a 67 years old man in the position of the team's head coach was a definite gamble in Cleveland Cavaliers' part, and it unquestionably didn't pay off. The controversy of January when John called his played thugs was a clear indication of a more significant problem between the head coach and the players of the team.

It would seem that John Beilein failed to connect with his players, which in any sport is an integrated part that ultimately results in success. John handling the sails aboard the Cleveland Cavaliers ship is taking the team down one way or another.
