Katie Holmes is best known for her role as Joey Potter on the television series Dawson's Creek. Aside from her stellar career, Holmes has maintained a high-profile dating history since rising to fame with Dawson's Creek.  

Kate Noelle Holmes was born on December 18, 1978, in Toledo, Ohio. Katie started her career aspiring to be a model, but life had other plans. She made her big-screen debut early in The Ice Storm, opposite Kevin Kline and Sigourney Weaver. Holmes was a new high school graduate when she landed her breakthrough role in Dawson's Creek, where the actress would also meet her first love, her co-star Joshua Jackson.

The budding couple was only rumored to be dating until they subtly confirmed the speculation in April while enjoying a steamy stroll in Central Park. A source reported the duo's fast-paced relationship, saying, "Katie has a lot of big priorities in her life — she is a single mom, her daughter [Suri] always comes first, and things were moving very fast."

Although no statements came from the new couple, not that it was expected, Holmes and Wooten surprisingly made their relationship official in late May by making their red carpet debut at the Moth Ball’s 25th Anniversary Gala on Thursday night at Spring Studios in New York City. Holmes' new flame Wooten is a musician and Grammy-nominated composer.

Wooten is reported to be an adjunct instructor at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts and has excellent credits. The Grammy nominee has worked with Carly Rae Jepsen and David Byrne and is currently playing bass in Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Broadway. "He is an amazing guy, very kind, super talented and just an all-around cool guy. He is as chill and brilliant and funny as they come," a source said about Wooten after being linked with Holmes.

The Dawson's Creek actress boasts a pretty high-profile dating record, which includes names like Jamie Foxx, Tom Cruise, Chris Klein, and more, but only one of the many men have been lucky enough to exchange vows with the stunning actress. Holmes's first public boyfriend, her co-star Joshua Jackson was also her first love.

While playing each other's love interest on Dawson's Creek, Holmes (Joey) and Joshua (Pacey) translated the onscreen chemistry into real life. The romance was, however, brief. "I met somebody last year. I fell in love; I had my first love. I will treasure it always. I feel so fortunate because he is now one of my best friends. It's weird; it's almost like a Dawson-and-Joey type thing now," Katie said, alluding to her short romance with Jackson.

After Joshua, Holmes moved on with her one of her most remarkable boyfriends, Chris Klein, who she met in 2000 and dated for five years, even getting engaged in the process. The duo called it off in 2005, the same year Holmes began her iconic and infamous relationship with Hollywood giant Tom Cruise.

The Dawson's Creek alum and the Top Gun star started dating in April 2005 and got engaged in the span of two months. While dating Cruise, Holmes even famously converted to Scientology, a debatable set of beliefs and practices invented by L. Ron Hubbard. Deemed Hollywood's iconic couple at the time, Tom and Katie welcomed their daughter, Suri, in April 2006 and got married in a Scientology ceremony in November.

 Holmes and Cruise's marriage came crashing down in 2012 when the actress filed for divorce, and some strange events followed. Katie reportedly used a throwaway phone to contact her lawyers and even hired three law firms in three states to divorce Cruise. The best theory about Holmes' unusual behavior is that the actress wanted herself and Suri completely out of Scientology.

Following her infamous relationship and split from Cruise, Holmes started a hush-hush relationship with Jamie Foxx. The pair never publicly admitted to the romance, but it reportedly went on from 2017 to 2019. The Ice Storm actress last dated Emilio Vitolo Jr., a restaurateur. But the romance fizzled in eight months. "The pair have parted ways amicably but remain friends," said an insider.
