Leah Remini is an actress and activist known for roles in The King of Queens, Kevin Can Wait, Second Wait, and Mad Families. Outside of her acting career, Remini is a prominent critic of Scientology, a controversial belief system masquerading as a religion for the past few decades. A former follower of Scientology, Remini has made her stance against the cult very clear and garnered much acclaim for her work on the sensitive subject.  

Leah Marie Remini was born on June 15, 1970, in New York City. Shoved into Scientology's Paramilitary organization called the Sea Organization by her adherent Scientologist mother at a young age, Remini claims the cult took away her early years and deprived her of a normal upbringing. Since leaving the church of Scientology in 2013, Remini has cemented herself as a serious actress, a sharp activist, and a loving wife to a fellow actor.  

Who is Leah Remini's husband?  

Remini plays a disdainful and ill-tempered wife named Carrie Heffernan in the acclaimed series The King of Queens. Despite playing the sardonic character for nine seasons, it's safe to say that Leah has adopted none of the peculiar traits of Carrie, as the actress is happily married to actor Angelo Pagan and shares one daughter, Sofia Bella Pagan, with him.

Pagan is a Puerto Rico-born actor with credits in much of his wife's headlined films and series, including, Swordfish, The King of Queens, and Kevin Can Wait. Pagan has also had a brief career as a musician. Unlike his avidly articulate wife, Angelo hasn't been so forthcoming about his views and appearances as a public figure. Remini met Angelo at a Cuban restaurant in L.A; the actress later described the meeting as "love at first sight."

Though the pair are still married, with Angelo often making appearances in his better-known wife's projects, the two didn't have the best start. Leah once revealed although she felt an instant connection with the actor, they didn't meet under the best circumstances. Angelo was still married to his first spouse and shared three children with her. "We did have a hard time in the beginning," Leah revealed after she shot to stardom with the CBS sitcom, adding, We didn't meet under the best circumstances. We got counseling, and it was not an easy road."

Remini was still a member of Scientology when she married Angelo on July 19, 2003, at a Four season hotel in L.A. The couple welcomed their only daughter a year later. Fans even witnessed special snippets of the loving family in Leah's reality television series Leah Remini: It's All Relative, which explored Leah's day-to-day life as a working mother and wife in 2014. After leaving Scientology, Leah announced her return to Catholicism and reasserted her faith in the religion by getting her daughter baptized.

It was a beautiful experience, and our little angel is on her way to a more spiritual experience," Angelo wrote while revealing his daughter's baptism. Remini once dropped a major bombshell about her personal life by referring to her husband as a "serial cheater" in her tell-all memoir Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology. But despite revealing the ugly side of their marriage, the couple continues to thrive in their conjugal life.  

Leah Remini trolls BFF Jennifer Lopez!  

Besides her biting criticism of Scientology and her bumpy marriage with Angelo, Remini is also known for her long-standing friendship with Jennifer Lopez. Both Remini and Angelo share close-bond with Lopez's family. The actress and singer pair have been friends since 2004 when they met at the premiere of Man on Fire. "We're very close like sisters are, but in a different way that sisters are," Remini had said about her friendship with Lopez.

Giving an insight into her endearing bond with Lopez, Remini recently shared a Tik Tok video of the two, originally shared on Instagram, in 2014, where the King of Queens actress is hilariously annoyed by Lopez's superhuman ability to look gorg all the time. "Jen asked me to meet her by the pool, right?" Remini can be seen saying this in the video. She then turns the camera to Lopez, looking over the top in her matching bikini and headscarves. Remini then shouts at her BFF, "Look at this one, sitting poolside. Headwrap, jewelry. Can you be ugly once? Just be normal once."

The throwback Tik Tok video has garnered more than seven million views, and fans haven't stopped gushing about the pair's cutest relationship. Remini, who has over 3.4 million followers on her Instagram, promoted her friend's recently-released Marry Me and posted a BTS clip of Jlo's press interview, where Leah interrupts her mid-talk. "I'm available to interrupt interviews this week, surprised I haven't been asked yet," the actress captions the clip.
