Nisekoi Season 3 - Is There Any Possibility Of A New Season?
It's been almost five years since the release of the second season of Nisekoi, will there be a third season?
Nisekoi is one of those Japanese anime which seems to be perpetually stuck in limbo, and there is no end in sight for the fans of the series. Japanese animes are like this in many ways, either they will never end, or they make the series so amazing they are left with not being able to follow up the series. There is still hope though for the beloved manga show which went off the air almost five years ago.
Akiyuki Shinbo directed the first two seasons of the series for Shaft and the first season of the beloved series aired on 11 January 2014. The series also aired in America during the same period of time was a rating success and the first 20 episode season saw critical acclaim from critics. The series came back for a second season in 2015 but with a shortened episode count of just 12, which left fans wanting more from the series.

Fans wanted Nisekoi Season 3 in 2016, but the show never materialized in the said year with rumors floating around saying the series would find its way into the fans’ living rooms in 2017 but still there was no development whatsoever. In 2018 a live-action movie based on the manga and the series was released to critical panning, but the film was still a success which gave fans hope there are still plan for the season three of Nisekoi.
There is still hope; Shaft released 'March Comes in Like a Lion', 'Fate/Extra Last Encore' and 'Magic Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story' which is set to release in 2019. Akiyuki was the director in all of the series, and finally, there seems to be some free time on the horizon for the director, which is a good sign for the future of Nisekoi.

The slate for Shaft also appears to be clear, and they will probably be more inclined to go ahead and make a sure-fire hit with Nisekoi. The problem with Japanese manga series will always be there; this is not like American series where doesn’t matter if they are true to the source material or not, all that matters is making money and producing new series every year not to lose relevancy.
Nisekoi and Rick and Morty are almost on the same boat, the American series also went into hiatus after the second season, but still the creators of the show came back and made the third season in 2017, two years later, and they are coming back with the fourth season in 2019 with a promise of producing new shows every year.

This should be hope for Nisekoi fans, all they need is the series to come back for a third season, and the continuation will be there for the series. We all love Nisekoi and want the anime to come back for another season, but it all depends on Shaft and the manga company which controls the rights of the books.

There is enough material in the manga to warrant more than four seasons’ worth of storytelling. It will be a long while before the series comes back for a third season and at this point, there are signs the anime is coming back but when it is happening is uncertain at this point.
