Best known as Sara Tancredi from the serial drama Prison Break, Sarah Wayne Callies is a proud mom of two. Callies is widely loved for playing tough and brutal roles; Her role as Lori Grimes in the horror series The Walking Dead was a pathbreaker in her career.

Sarah was born on June 1, 1977, in La Grange, Illinois. Currently, in her mid-40s, Callies has been a part of a trove of hit projects throughout her career, spanning over 18 years. Married to her husband of 19 years, Callies has been vocal about her journey as a mother. The actress says parenthood has been an enlightening and rewarding experience.

The Walking Dead actress, Sarah Wayne Callies, married her real-life husband, Josh Winterhalt. Sarah and her hubby, Josh, tied the knot on July 1, 2002. There is little information about the pair's relationship or Callies's husband's bio.

The little insights fans have into the marriage of Sarah is through Callies's eloquence regarding her children. Callies and her husband welcomed their first child, Keala Winterhalt, in 2007. 

The couple is pretty reticent about their personal life; during the birth of Keala, they preferred keeping the details a secret. Callies later adopted a son named Oakes Wayne, born in 2013. "My son is adopted; it's a transracial adoption," she revealed while in the conversation for her series, Council of Dads.

The actress later revealed she was almost on the verge of quitting acting when the script of Council of Dad came her way. Callies says the writing resonated with her life powerfully, just like in the series; she had many dads growing up. "I've never cried reading something like this," she said.

The actress further reveals that she keeps in touch with her son's biological mother. "I look at the journey she took to decide for my son, and my feelings are only gratitude, respect, and love," said Callies. "Parenthood is about a lot of failure," says the actress in her mid-40s. In her interview with The New York Post, she revealed her children don't think she is a cool mom.   

Sarah Wayne Callies's Aftershock Podcast!

Sarah leads the new scripted podcast series, Aftershock, which also stars David Harbour and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The Walking Dead actress not only stars in the podcast but is also in charge of writing and directing the series. The all-star cast includes Tati Gabrielle, Janel Parrish, and many more.

The new iHeart Radio original podcast tells a post-apocalyptic story about an earthquake that devastates Los Angeles. The series was planned and recorded during the pandemic. It has been receiving unanticipated positive reverberations till now. The podcast ranked number 1 on Apple for a couple of weeks.

Through that podcast, she wanted to voice the plights of indigenous people and their fight for control of their land. 

"It also seemed to me that it would be an opportunity to tell stories I've known my whole life but haven't seen much in pop culture," said the Prison Break star.
