‘Saturday Night Live’ Set to Return With New Episode
Saturday Night Live is set to return this weekend.
Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, NBC confirms Saturday Night Live is set to return this weekend with a brand new episode. Just as other late-night shows that returned in recent weeks, the new episode of SNL will be broadcasted remotely whilst the entire cast and crew stay in self-isolation at home.
The fresh episode is scheduled to feature a new segment, known as ‘Weekend Update.’ In addition, there’ll be new material from the cast of Saturday Night Live.
Last month, SNL went on hiatus following the COVID-19 pandemic, and the subsequent orders from the Government to stay at home made the new episodes impossible to air. At the time, the network assured fans they would continue to monitor the situation and take decisions accordingly.

Every late-night talk show was forced to stop production following the coronavirus outbreak. However, recently they’ve all begun airing remotely, including NBC’s own “Tonight Show” that made its return on 23rd March with a new “At Home Edition” featuring contents from Jimmy Fallon’s home merged with past segments.

Adam Sandler was Fallon’s most recent guest in a pretty fun episode where they recalled their memories from an incident 20 years back. On the other hand, Ellen was the subject of heavy backlash after she compared staying in quarantine to being in jail.
Saturday Night Live airs 11th April, Saturday, at 11.30 p.m. ET/PT.
