Taylor Swift Is The Highest-Paid Woman In Music

Taylor Swift became the highest-paid woman in music as well as entertainment.

Taylor Swift is on the top of the world, or she’s been on the top of the world since the infamous moment when Kanye West interrupted Taylor during her acceptance speech at the VMAs. She was just a country star who liked to sing about heartbreaks and falling in love, well, her music turned more pop, and she left her country roots behind, but the subject matter stayed the same.

Well, the thing is, do not fix something which isn’t broke and it is exactly the philosophy Taylor lived by, and now she is the highest-paid in music industry. For the year ending June 2018 and June 2019, Taylor was the highest-earning woman in entertainment as well as music.

The singer who debuted her title track from her seventh album, during her performance at the VMAs where many singers took home the astronaut, was just crowned the highest-paid woman in music with $185 million gross before taxes. Most of the earnings for her in 2018-19 came from her record-breaking tour which was in the promotion to her 2017 album 'Reputation'. The Reputation Tour made over $266 million, and she also ran away with a huge nine-figure deal which she signed with Universal Records.

The singer is also set to debut on top of the Billboard Hot 200 Chart with her new album ‘Lover’ set for sales upward of 700,000. She is also set to make over $40 million for the rest of the year with her other ventures and record sales combined with the new contract.

Kim Kaupe, who is one of the members of Forbes 30 Under 30, said, “Taylor and her team understand the subtle yet important art of creating substantial moments. These moments are not only perfectly captured by fans and media outlets, but they are the perfect bite-sized, PR-ready morsel that the news cycle loves.”

Taylor ran away with the title for the year with a gulf of the gap between the first and second position. Beyonce came in on the second spot with the majority of her $81 million earning coming from On The Run II tour she did with her husband Jay-Z, who was named the first billionaire of the music industry.

Rihanna was also in the hunt for the second position but $62 million which was only enough to get the third spot. Most of the money she made was from her new business venture, Fenty Beauty. Katy Perry came in on the fourth spot with $57.5 million, and she said, “I am proud of my position as a boss, as a person that runs my own company. I’m an entrepreneur. … I don’t want to shy away from it.”

Katy and Taylor recently squashed their beef with the ‘California Girl’ songstress appearing in the music video for Taylor’s new album. All Katy needs to boost her net worth and to earn now is by collaborating with her once best friend and now reunited pals.

All in all, the top ten highest-paid women in the music industry brought in about $645 million, which was a 28.5% increase in total gross from last year. For a girl who started out and became the topic in everyone’s mouth after an incident at the VMAs to the same girl reaching the top of the highest-grossing chart is an astronomical rise and something which is much deserved.
