Disney announced their upcoming live-adaptation of 'The Little Mermaid' and Terry Crews fancies his chances at playing the mermaid’s dad, King Triton. 

The 50-year old SPICE model took to Twitter after the Disney's announcement, where the actor posted a photoshopped picture of himself holding a trident and with a fishtail.

America's got talent host posted a mermaid emoji and wrote: ‘Ariel’s Dad!!!! #ArielsGotTerry #AmericasGotTerry.’

Fans were quick to notice Terry's tweet, and they loved the actor's thought of starring in the Disney hit.

One fan wrote: ‘Utter joy. Sheer and utter joy. I’d watch this over one million times. Yes,’ while another added: ‘This needs to happen.’

Another fan commented: ‘I don’t like Disney live-action remakes, but I’ll watch this one if this were to happen.’

However, the announcement of the movie caused an initial controversy as fans were divided after Disney announced that Halle Bailey would play Ariel's role.

Fans were wondering how a black woman can play a role of Ariel?, But one of the insiders told us that Terry Crews was all for the casting.
