Liam Neeson Could Play MCU’s Galactus - Would He Fit The Role?

Liam Neeson is rumored to be playing the role of Galactus, but would he be the right choice for the character?

Marvel Cinematic Universe is in a position which is both envious and fearful, at the same time. Most studios want the success of Marvel, but they also don’t want the burden the future of MCU is bringing. Marvel just this year released the biggest movie of the industry with the film crossing the mark set by Avatar of $2.792 billion. Now, the question becomes, where is the MCU headed next?

The problem with MCU is the studio is not known for bringing great villains on screen, there are a handful of villains in the universe, and everyone is just disposable characters you probably can’t even remember. Then finally, the MCU got their act together when it came to villain portrayal and gave us one of the most epic bad guys in history. The problem is, he died after just two movies and Marvel is almost back to square one and it seems the problem of the villain will be on the series again.

One way they can fix the problem of the villain is by introducing one of the greatest bad guys from the comics, Galactus. There are rumors the world-eating one of the most powerful beings of the entire galaxy, 'Galactus', is coming to the MCU. After Disney acquired Fox Studios one of the best things about the acquisition was Marvel got the rights for X-Men, which meant the studio got the rights to the Devourer of Worlds.

With such a huge character finally in the Marvel stable, there is no way they are not going to use him in the upcoming movies of the franchise. With the character being one of the most iconic villains in the history of comic books, the character will definitely make an appearance in the MCU, which movie will be opportune enough to announce the character is not clear but we know the character is coming.

Now, We Got This Covered is saying the character is being fast-tracked and Marvel is looking for ways to make the character’s first appearance in the MCU as epic as possible. Since the character is coming to the sprawling franchise, it means an actor needs to be selected as the cast to portray the character.

Marvel is known for their casting prowess with most of all the actors they hired to play specific roles in various franchise hitting the mark with critics as well as audiences. We know Marvel is not going to botch the hiring of one of the most epic villains in the history of comics and there are rumors floating around Marvel is currently holding a shortlist of actors to play the character.

According to WGTC, Liam Neeson is one of the actors who are among the shortlist of Hollywood heads currently eyed to play the character. Liam Neeson is not exactly an ideal choice for the fans; he is a little wiry for us but considering the changing size of Galactus, the actor will most likely wear a mo-cap suit, and the appearance will be visually rendered on the body of the actor. Still, Liam is not exactly our first choice to portray the character.

This is not a confirmed report; the source talking to the site said this is not a casting report, Liam wasn’t contacted by the studio to appear in the movie. This is just an inside the studio shortlist, which is a working benchmark, the actor they want in the film and Liam is on the list with numerous other actors.

Whatever the case, we are more than excited for the appearance of Galactus in the MCU, which is sure to be epic. We would love to see David Harbour or maybe even Ed Harris play the character, but it is what we want with the character. Liam is probably the one the studio is looking for, and we don’t mind the Taken actor terrorizing the Fantastic Four and other characters of the MCU.
