Ricky Martin's Nephew Withdraws His Incest Allegation
Ricky Martin is free of incest accusations his nephew made against him weeks ago: Complete story here!
Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin survives a near fall from grace as his 21-year-old nephew, identified as Dennis Yadiel Sanchez, withdraws his incest claims. Sanchez filed a case against the 50-year-old singer, claiming the two had a sexual relationship for seven months. Amid Sanchez's claims of incest and stalking by Martin, a Puerto Rican court issued a temporary restraining order against Ricky; the charge has since been dismissed.
After the accuser took back his claims, a judge on Thursday retrieved the restraining order against the singer. "Just as we anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the court," Martin's legal team wrote. During the virtual hearing on Thursday, Sanchez's lawyer asked for the dismissal of the case. When asked by the judge if he was withdrawing the claims under pressure, the accuser alleged it was a voluntary decision.

Although Sanchez claimed to have made the decision on his own, a recent investigation by Puerto Rico police shows the singer's nephew received death threats before the hearing. Martin's native newspaper El Nuevo Día reports Sanchez filed a police complaint after receiving two death threats on Tuesday.

Despite the unveiled death threats claims, Sanchez's released statement, however, tells a different story. "The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone, without any outside influence or pressure. The accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter. Moments after the case was withdrawn, the Livin La Vida Loca crooner opened up about the vile accusations.
"It has been so painful. It has been devastating for me," Martin.

"I'm in front of the cameras today because I really need to talk in order for me to start my healing process," the father of four said. Ricky adds, "For two weeks, I was not allowed to defend myself because I was following a procedure where the law obligated me not to talk." The Maria hitmaker goes on to explain how the groundless accusations affected him and his family.
"I'm going to tell you the truth. It has been so painful. It has been devastating for me, my family, and my friends. I don't wish this upon anybody," the singer explains. "To the person that was claiming this nonsense, I wish him the best. And I wish he finds the help so he can start a new life filled with love and truth and joy and he doesn't hurt anybody else," Martin further adds.

Martin, 50, famously but unwillingly came out as gay in 2010 after Barbara Walters pushed the singer out of his closet on national tv. The San Juan-born is happily married to Syrian-Swedish artist Jwan Yosef. The pair have since welcomed four kids, twin boys Matteo and Valentino, daughter Lucia Martin-Yosef, and son Renn Martin-Yosef.
