Ryan Reynolds Says the Whole Team is "Working on" Deadpool 3 "Right Now"

Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds said the team is currently working on making Deadpool 3 happen.

'Deadpool' was not supposed to happen, the movie was never greenlit by 20th Century Fox in the first place, and no one was even asking for the movie to be made after the horrific inclusion in the film 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine.' The movie happened after a small clip of the highway fight scene from the first movie leaked online.

After the fans saw the amazing fun all the people involved in the scene were having, they wanted to also join in on the fun. There was a massive outpouring of support from the fans worldwide, as everyone said they wanted to see the full version of what was on display in the small clip.

There was a genuine interest in the film, and 20th Century Fox made it happen with the studio greenlighting the project with a $58 million budget. After the film was released, the movie was a massive critical and commercial success and resulted in 'Deadpool 2' being made. The second movie also set the box office on fire, and while the talks for a third movie were going on, 20th Century Fox was swallowed by Disney.

The Disney takeover meant all the movies under production went to a review with the studio, and everything else in the Fox library was now in the Disney catalog. This also meant the remaining Marvel characters, with the exception of 'Spider-Man Universe,' were coming to the Marvel Studios stable.

One of the biggest concerns of Disney and Fox merger was the in-production movies would be shelved by the studio, and the fears became a reality when the complete 'New Mutants' film didn’t even see the light of day. The same fate was probably in store for 'Deadpool,' or so the fans feared at first.

But from the moment of the merger, one thing was made clear, 'Deadpool' was the one character, which would survive the Fox Disney deal. Then there were the writers of the first two 'Deadpool' movies who said they met with the Marvel and Disney head who assured them the 'Merc with a mouth' would be an R-rated film, and the studio would allow them to make the movie they want with the possibility of being allowed to play in the larger sandbox of the MCU.

Now, the star of the movie, Ryan Reynolds, says the film is a go, and the team is working on trying to make it happen as soon as possible. Right now Ryan Reynolds is doing million different things, 'Free Guy' is coming soon, there is the $200 million budgeted Netflix movie 'Red Notice' is coming where Ryan and Dwayne Johnson are being paid $20 million each to star in.

But in a recent interview with Live with Kelly and Ryan, the actor said, “We're working on it right now with the whole team. We're over at Marvel [Studios] now, which is like the big leagues all of a sudden. It's kinda crazy. So yeah, we're working on it.” Ryan loves the character of 'Deadpool,' and he will do anything to make it happen, and if his comments are on point, then 'Deadpool 3' is happenings sooner rather than later.

There was even a theory going around the internet where 'Deadpool' would supposedly make his way into the MCU with a cameo in the upcoming sophomore 'Doctor Strange' movie. Whether the rumor is true or not, it would be interesting to see how the character will be included in the wider arc of the MCU, or even if he will be included in the first place.
