Feige told through a sound clip,
"Captain Marvel is a character in our comics and in a mythology whose got one foot on Earth, one foot in the cosmic arena. And now that we have made a number of movies that take place on Earth, and now a number of the cosmic adventures with Avengers, and with Guardians of the Galaxy and with Thor, we thought it was the right time to finally introduce Captain Marvel to the world. She’s one of the most popular characters in our comics, she’s one of the most powerful characters in the comics and will be the most powerful character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe."
This is surely not the first time that Kevin Feige has come forward to speak his mind about Captain Marvel's real power. However, the comments sure quench a little bit of thirst that people have when it comes to the position of the out of this world superhero in the upcoming much-awaited Avengers: Endgame. The president of the Marvel Universe added,
"This is just not about somebody who is incredibly powerful and can fly around and shoot photon blasts out of her arms, it’s somebody who is very human, who is very vulnerable and who has multiple dimensions. And when we found out that Brie Larson might be interested in joining this world, she came in, we had a number of meetings, we pitched her this idea, she was a huge fan of the character and the comic. And one of the highlights at my career at Marvel was introducing her at Comic-Con and having her coming out on stage and stand there with literally almost everything else from our universe, and there she was at the forefront, and it was a great foreshadowing of not just for how audiences are going to embrace Brie as this character, but also for how Captain Marvel is about to take the lead and be at the forefront of the entire Cinematic Universe."
Emphasizing on the importance of the fact that the superhero is a female, he continued,
"We've always had powerful female characters in our movies. We've had powerful female heroes in our movies, but having Captain Marvel as the title character for the first time feels like it's overdue. And feels like something that we are excited and can't wait to deliver onto the world."
With Captain Marvel premiering around the theaters worldwide on March 8th it paved its way to the very top of the box office charts collecting $646 million in the opening weekend.
Tara McNamara, a critic from Common Sense Media maintained,
"This superhero flick is basic but still engrossing, enthralling, and rewarding on many levels, just one of which is seeing Marvel's first female superhero get her own movie."
While another critic said,
"Captain Marvel shows us a tenacious female superhero battling evil and her own demons, devoid of insecurities. Not something we see very often."
The superhero movie starring Brie Larson has earned mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. Looking past all the recent happenings of the movie, she is set to gain a status of prominence in the upcoming rendition of Avengers.
